Bad Vibes: Trusting Your Instinct
}

Bad Vibes Exist for a Reason

“I should have listened to my instinct,” she said.

This is one of the worst things I hear from my clients. Last month, a client called, sobbing. She was on the verge of financial ruin, but moreover, her heart was broken, as the man she thought was her fiance ran off with her credit cards, bank cards, and car. The police found the car in an airport parking lot, the credit cards were cancelled, and her bank account was only partially drained. The man she was supposed to marry was heading to Maya Del Playa with…his wife.

Most people say they were swept off their feet by the person who ultimately swindled them, but almost always at first, they felt a bad vibe. Some people mistake this as excitement or attraction because society tells us to ignore our gut instinct.

Don’t Ignore Your Gut

Some of us have a very strong sixth sense. I have gotten physically sick from meeting psychopaths because their darkness is so strong. However, even though of us who aren’t psychic have a natural ability to tell when something is wrong with someone else. This is natural, and yet, we tend to ignore it. Why?

There’s a reason why women tend to be victimized more than men, and the more women I work with, the more I hear that they gave someone a chance despite their instincts because they didn’t want to seem bitchy. Why? Because women are taught that they have to entertain other’s nonsense, even though they have stronger bullshit-detectors than men. The older I get, the more true it seems.

If in Doubt, ask a Trusted Friend.

Ask a friend if you’re not sure if the bad vibes are for real. Having someone corroborate what you know makes it easier to ignore someone who seems off.

If you want, you can ask me, too. I can “see” this person and let you know what they’re about.

I only wish I was able to do this sooner for my client.
