The Christmas holiday is well under way, and here I am feeling like writing something for fun. Even though astrology is my living, I still find it very much fun, and I do think that astrology can be fun.

I also love a good holiday. I was much more cynical in my younger years, but as I grow older, the more I love a day to celebrate being alive. After all, that is a short time, and death is very long. If there’s anything the dead tell m that they regret more, it’s not having enjoyed being alive.

So, how do you celebrate? Your sun sign gives a clue.

Holiday Styles by Sun Sign:

Aries: Aries parties hard! They’re the first to arrive and the last to leave. They like activities, and without anything to do, they get into mischief. Does your family like to play board games after dinner? Aries will do anything to win Monopoly. They like to be the one to light to Yule log and roast chestnuts.

Taurus: Winter holidays are a Taurean dream, depending on their attitude about the weather. Food, roomy clothes, music, decorations, family, and friends: if you’re cooking, they’re eating, and if you’re entertaining, they’re coming. Just don’t try to make them get up on Christmas morning before they’re ready.

Gemini: They send their Christmas cards early. Caroling, mixers, parties: they love being together. Strangely enough, they don’t mind shopping in crowded malls, as they love being surrounded by the people, the lights, music, and variety. They have the perfect thing for everyone on their lists, but they want gadgets.

Cancer: This is your quintessential holiday maker. The cook, the baker, the home decorator, the gift wrapper, the stocking stuffer, the tree trimmer: you name it. There’s no place like home for the holidays, and they couldn’t agree more. They’re nostalgic for holidays past. They have sentimental items everywhere and hand-made mittens.

Leo: Leo loves the colors, the bright lights, and the presents! They’re wonderful hosts (even if Cancer or Virgo does all the work) and they love giving and getting gifts. They play the best music and they bring the merriment. They’re especially good to their friends. Leo knows every single holiday trend, from fashion to cappuccinos. Trust them to give you (or ask for) the latest thing.

Virgo: Virgo actually loves the holidays, because by making them happen, they feel appreciated. They know how to make a soup that warms cold bones. Virgo is especially good at all manner of hand-made crafts. They can make everything on their Pinterest — in fact, you may have pinned some of their expert crafts. Virgo doesn’t overindulge, so she’s always available to take care of those who do.

Libra: Libra brings the party to them. They deal with the pretty, pleasant things. They shop til they drop (and someone else pays the bill). They eat chocolate and cookies for breakfast, and they can actually pull off that ugly Christmas sweater. They make wonderful hosts. They also keep the economy going: who pays people to wrap presents and write cards? They do!

Scorpio: Scorpio is either Ebeneezer Scrooge or Clark Griswold.  They go full tilt on the holidays or hate them. If they’re the Clark Griswold type, they make it happen for everyone. They buy everything, decorate everything, invite everyone, cook everything, and do everything. No one will out-Christmas them, EVER. If they’re Ebeneezer Scrooge, they hide until January 2nd, and then probably through February 15th. Don’t even try; they don’t want to listen.

Sagittarius: Sagittarius loves the holidays, especially food. They love to eat, and the more the merrier. They want to incorporate all manners of holiday tradition so long as it’s not their family tradition. They drink all the egg nog and mulled wine, but they’re the first to lead in singing. They will wander into the forest to find the perfect tree (but they’re not so keen on decorating). They want to be out in the snow, so do things outside.

Capricorn: Capricorn has a perfectly appropriate Christmas. Nothing is garish. All colleagues, neighbors, family, and friends are recognized, and no one is left out. They seem disinterested on the outside, but they’re happy children brimming with joy on the inside. When they’re all alone, they’re turn on the tree and stare in rapt wonder as the snow falls on a quiet night. They do believe in Christmas magic…secretly.

Aquarius: Aquarius doesn’t want to do your silly traditions. They make their own. In fact, they may celebrate Festivus. They decorate an avocado tree and give gag gifts to their grandmothers. They like to travel on Christmas to get away from the corniness of it all. They do appreciate, however, getting the latest technology for Christmas.

Pisces: Pisces is an overgrown child who truly believes in the Christmas spirit. This adult still believes in Santa Claus and wants everyone else to believe in Santa. Pisces wants to be Santa Claus, and they may give everything they have in the spirit of Christmas. They go for broke, but they love it all, and they live to give. Christmas is a time where it’s perfectly okay to be Pisces because everyone appreciates some magic.
