Got soul? First, an apology:
I’ve been very busy lately with some non-work related matters. However, I’m trying to post as often as I can. I know I have some emails and comments to respond to. I will in due time. Currently, the thing that’s been on my mind is the nature of our intangible selves: soul.
Soul: What does it mean?
Many believe that we have them, but some do not. Yet, most may consider some part of their intangible being to be soul-like. Soul could be another word for mind. Moreover, it could be the part of the mind that does not die when the brain can no longer host the mind. Some believe that it is the part of us that makes us like G-d. Others think that souls are the beings we truly are, and that they inhabit bodies from carnation to carnation. We may think that we have soul-mates, a person who is meant for us no matter what body we inhabit.
Do we have souls?
Those of us who have contacted ghosts may believe so. It’s commonly believed that ghosts are the souls of humans separated from the bodies but still trapped in this dimension. I for one, believe in them, because I’ve not only contacted ghosts, but other souls as well on the astral plane and in Heaven.
Why am I thinking about this?
Sometimes, someone asks me if there is an afterlife, and if so, if they’ll be a part of it. They ask if some of them will live on, as they are. I believe they will. I also believe that the spirit we have now is the spirit we have when we escape this mortal coil.
This spirit is the part of us that never dies. It’s the part of us that wants to transcend the material world and to seek higher things, better things. It’s not limited to the imagination. I also think that souls have power. For example, I know that the soul of my grandfather still watches over me even as I enter my old age.
And even when you are entering your old age, you will hopefully burn and rave at close of day.
I believe in souls because I want to believe in them. They are real.
